Book sample images

Here's some quick snaps of how the book turned out... The myCanvas people have a really good web-based interface for putting together books and partner with Smugmug. I didn't need to upload anything to put this together. The print quality is fantastic too... click on the images below for a larger view:

Stages of a Photographer

This is all over the interwebs now of course but it tickles me senseless. Take a look and see if you can figure out where you're at. I'm trying to avoid gearfaggotry but I just LOVE technology... although I've started to think about old film cameras lately...

This came from DataVis I think originally. Well worth a look for other infographics.

Hipstamatic iPhone app

I played over the weekend with the Hipstamatic iPhone app... taking throw away snaps while on trips etc... it's making me wish I could view the world through the fog of a plastic lens and some outdated film! I'm having a lot of fun exploring the different lens and film and flash combinations... I highly recommend it if you have an iPhone and NZ$2.59 to spend:

Exhibition Poster

I finished the poster for the exhibition last night... now I just gotta get it printed... it kinda came out looking like a movie poster I think ;-)  The infrared book I made with mycanvas.com came in the mail too and looks stunning... I'll post some preview pictures from that in the coming days.

Oscars

Well we went and got ourselves another Visual Effects Oscar yesterday for a Avatar. That's fantastic! Nothing can go everyone's way though. Maybe some people feel a little left out? Maybe not? Whatever happened there, THIS is too funny not to share:

Exhibition Flyer

ok the exhibition flyer just went off to the printers and will come back in a few days... then I can start distributing it and then also mail out invites for the opening... take a look:

It's reminiscent of the book cover with a few differences... and I'll probably use this sort of design for the poster too.

I've also finished the book and ordered a couple to see how they come out... I'm considering offering a smaller version at the show.

Next it's time to investigate framing options that don't bankrupt me... ;-)
